another good movie for the man from iron man

Amazing! Best movie I've seen since New Moon!

this movie was so exciting and funny you never know whats coming around the corner!!

Good entertainment. Solid acting from Downing Jr. But falls short with a conceited plot that has holes all over the place.

The hype for this movie was better than the actual movie. There was no continuity to the plot and it failed when they tried to tie everything together at the end. It was a mish mash of scenes put together with no flow.

A lot of hype about nothing - noisy, dark movie, too much violence, confusing. Robert Downey Jr. is the only saving grace.

How anyone can give this more than one star is beyond me. Boring, too many fight scenes, choppy, waster of time.

Don't waste your time. Boring beyond belief. Too many Loooooonnnnnng fight scenes, with Ritchie, once again, using the slow motion, rewind, replay that he has done in other movies like Snatch, Lock, Stock etc. Downey was okay, but, very convoluted & choppy. What a disappointment!

fast paced great action.I liked it,very entertaining.

Follows a typical Sherlock story line. Although the relationship and characterization of Watson and Holmes is quit different. I am a Jermey Brett fan. But I think if there is another homes movie I will accept the screen characters as they are. Worth the money.

What does this have to do with Sherlock Holmes???

Beautiful sets and costumes. Amazing understanding of the period and the book. The Sherlock's Holmes trademark hat and cape were travelling clothes used only when travelling to the country or over seas. In the city there was no reason for him to wear them. If you read Sherlock Holmes you'll see how Ritchie stays true to the details while playing with aspects of the story that were never fully explained. Very clever, and fun.

Robert mummbles his way in such quick language that I missed "lots". Why are the background sounds so loud that you miss the mummbles ... thank God the synopsis at the end puts it togetehr visually. Very disappointed.

I found the storyline as being the CSI of the 1800's!. Too much talking, slow to build up, not sure worth spending it on movie, better at home n dvd!. Dep was great and saves the overall movie 6.5/10

An imaginative and creative adventure demonstrating the power of logic over superstition. Holmes was fantastically accurately portrayed and the story was better for it. Those who disliked it as a result of the intensity and violence need to revisit the source material.

It had it all, it was alot of fun !

Great movie...much better than expected. I'd somehow had expected more gore. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were a perfect fit. Easily 5 Stars. R.A.N.

went to see the movie the other day and all i have to say is movie of the year??? people who do 1 or 2 stars are just attention hunters.....

Great movie. For those who said it was "too violent and not a great deal of life lessons to be learned here for them"... That is where parental guidance comes in for being rated PG

What to say about this movie!! Too much violence? Definitely. Well done? Not bad, though boring in parts and too long. Sherlock Holmes? Unrecognizable. Arthur Conan Doyle must be "turning over in his grave", as they say.

I loved it!!

Loved this movie! It was funny, suspenseful, plot twists, romance. Guy Ritchie did an excellent job with directing and casting. I hope the squel to this will be just as great! Everyone should see this movie!

Far too violent. Can not understand why parents would take their children to see this movie. Not a great deal of life lessons to be learned here for them. Costumes...excellent, time period portrayed excellent...acting excellent. But..I walked out of the movie.

With Bond losing its sense of humor, Sherlock can take up the slack. Great movie. Sometimes couldn't hear or understand RD-his upper lip hides his enunciation. Also, where's the cocaine and the needle? SH loved it. But fantastic scenes. Great film.
