definitely a fun movie, but not as good as i had expected. there is a lot of unnecessary dialogue which really doesn't add anything to the plot and just delays the action. as far as the franchise goes, i would rank it #3 after iron man and thor.

for the twit who spoke to character development. just because there was "some" in the other movies, doesn't mean it should be lacking in this one.

incredible! all these people are calling an action packed with great graphics movie. boring how does that make sense most of these people cant even spell. all in all it is a must see! i highly recommend it

stop being lazy? i'm pretty sure that sitting down and watching movies is the laziest thing you could do. if you consider that excersise you really need to re-think your quality of life. good movie though,

some people are so dumb... you want character development? stop being lazy and watch iron man, thor and captain america. all those lead up to the avengers... everything from tony stark's relationship with pepper, thor's relationship to loki (the bad guy in the avengers), and even the cube is in captain america. it couldn't be more spelled out.... even the previous incredible hulk movies had something that you can understand thats related to this movie... although i don't recommend watching the hulk movies cause they were bad and thats why they replaced the main character i.e. bruce banner twice(mark ruffalo is the 3rd incarnation). watch all those movies... watch it till the end even after t

Best comic book movie with a blend of comedy, action and a good respect to characters special moves and combo moves

2 1/2 stars. i am not sure where to start. there were so many fight scenes and destruction (once again new york is pummeled)that it just got boring. i like action in a movie but i would appreciate some character development. actioners like die hard or aliens had good characters and some plot. this film is just an excuse for fights and explosions. the acting is mediocre at best...with the exception of downey and ruffalo. the saving grace of this movie is that there are some funny lines.

i suggest everyone to watch all the previous individual avengers (thor, captain america..etc) before watching this.. seeing them altogether just makes my dream come true!

poor storie line, infighting amongst the avengers, reiner,s a bad guy most of the movie, who were the alien hord and why were they pissed. thin thin thin with fx.

kids movie but adults find something better to do... this is a b movie at best. my kids really like it but i was struggling to stay interested and i like a good action flick... but this was lacking something. bad acting for sure and dumb plot.

it one of the summer block buster, not the best movie out there. but it meet expection, within the 2 hour limits and i say it deserve a 3 or above rating. it shouldn't be taken so serious it is based out comic book heroes.

wonderful! this film should be an "acadamy award"winner 4 best picture! all of the actors and actresses are preaty awesome for such an action-packed and humorous film. awesomer as such as "titanic".

epicosity to the max!! ya thats right, im using a nonsense word like "epicosity" to describe how funny and action-packed this film is :) so far the year's best flick, and a must-see :)

hey, i'm the first to admit that the world would be a dull place if we all liked the same things. that said, people with next to no imagination, that look down on "comic books" as low brow entertainment for the unwashed masses, should stay away! by the way snobs, shakespeare was also considered low class fare in his time.

guys grow up...unless still reading those comics books again, first part was extremely boring then the action starts. aren't we see those action in transformers 3 and battlefield in l.a. typicaly allien movie with 5 super heroes (who trying to be the leader) with 2 douchbag powerless hero. did any one anything in 3d or i was blind? an average dvd movie.

wow, i am speechless! avengers is everything you expected it to be and more (at least for me!). it has its unexpected funney parts and a lot of action!! great plot with a bit of a cliffhanger =p. strongly recommend!!! go see this movie!!

this movie was done quite could have been a little better. micheal bay could learn about from this movie and actually make a better transformers movie, worth the ten bucks, and i havent said that in a long time......

Pretty good. It not that great. If you have elevated expectations from this movie, Robert Downey Jr delivers all sorts of wonderful rhetoric and the Hulk offers great entertainment. Thor delivers some dynamics as well. The others heros were very bland; very uninspiring. The story is expected from a movie about heros and alien monsters. The villains were over done and unimpressive; way too many that didn't matter. Loki was pretty cool. I liked how they tied in Thor's story into this movie. This move's potential was hindered by the typical gun fights and explosions. The move would have faired better if each hero had been challenged by a villain that offered a more 1 to 1 challenge.

people...either we have a bunch of people adding joker reviews or the public had gone mad. boring, dumb plot, bad acting... hopefully word gets out and people stop going otherwise they are going to think they did a good job and make another.

i am very surprised at the number of stars this movie has received. although they had a real opportunity to make a classic movie here the acting is so bad that within the first 10 minutes i wanted to leave. i brought my two kids, 10 & 11, and yes they enjoyed it but for a mature moviegoer it is painful to watch. there are big names in the movie and yes you probably should expect more from them but the cliche lines, cat has 50 lives, really fake makeup, and just bad acting was hard to look past. if you are just going for the popcorn and the chance to unload some cash from your wallet then this movie is for you, otherwise wait for it on dvd. at least then you can leave the room and find somet
