The book was good, but the movie was better. The deletion of most of the time spent travelling and doing things that did not futher the story would probably cut down 300 pages in the book which is basically what the movie did visually. The movie even keeps those who HAVE read the book guessing with some plot deviations.
Orlando Bloom is the hottest thing I have ever seen in my life, and I have seen plenty of hot men!!!!!!!! Love you Orlando!
The movie was fantastic, all the thrills, action and humor! Wonderful how Andy Serkis potrayed Gollum! Orlando Bloom is marvalous!

I thought the movie was awesome. I found it a bit different then the book though.
this is a movie of the grand scale. everything is larger then life, the action, the battles, the actors, all work on the great scale. yet, there is still room for the humanity, or shall I say, the hobbitity of the characters to develop and thrive. sam becomes the voice of reason to the troubled frodo...a great movie

best movie of the year
Although the movie does not follow the book entirely, I find that Peter Jackson had adapted the story in a fresh and exciting way. The images are breathtaking and the acting delicious. I found myself at the edge of my seat, while still laughing my heart out at times. The balance between drama and humour was very smart. Bravo, this is certainly a masterpiece. Can`t wait for the final chapter to hit theaters next year!

Amazing movie. Although more violent than the first one (to be expected) I also fond parts of the movie truely funny. It kept me entertained through the entire 3 hour movie. I thick Peter Jackson did another wonderful job and I can`t wait for next Christmas to see the last installment of this amazingly well done trilogy.
the lion the witch & the wardrobe is still the best fantasy movie
The effects and look of this movie were unquestionably just as good or better than the first movie, but with all the fighting that happens in this part of the story just wasn`t much time for acting. Definately left feeling that the Fellowship was better at hitting those emotional notes.
