different but good

A true shudder-inducing thriller that keeps you guessing at every twist and turn-spellbinding and bonechilling with some real clever moviemaking,not to mention solid acting from the stars!!

I give only 3 stars because I personally was psychologically touched which took a day or so to shake off. Black Swan is able to reach a broad spectrum of people, through many levels. it shows the blood and sweat and not just the pretty perfect Nina.

I was thrilled through the whole movie. Very well done.

Good but a little weird

Very intense dealing with psychosis personality,well acted with a surprise ending!

The 2 stars are for Nathalie Portman's role in which she had to endure that horrible dance director. Wait for the movie to be released on DVD.

I haven't seen this yet however Nathalie Portman is just the most astounding actress of all time!

worth seeing the underside of competition is ominous and spooky

The hype for this movie gets you there...though do you really want to stay? My anticipation that some meaningful message would accompany the intense acting, was left unsatisfied. The plot is confusing; go with a friend so that after wards you can debate about what the movie was really about! What was the message, if there was one at all? A warning about the demands on body and spirit dancers must endure, perhaps? Or maybe dysfunctional relationships, jealousy, ambition, passion, are the keys to the theme! Maybe it was all metaphors for the battle between good and evil, purity and impurity, black and white? Possibly it was exploring systems of patriarchy and body politics? This movie can

crazy spooky flick

i didn't enjoy this movie at the time because of the grose bloody scenes, but when i look back it is a masterpiece

Black Swan was very well done and I loved suspense that was carried through the entire film. I was on the edge of my seat and even cringing at certain points. I enjoyed the whole "Tyler Durden" feel it had to it; it's great to have another movie that has the same quality as Fight Club.

It is a near masterpiece that is just as much beautiful as it is nightmarish. Black Swan is an enthralling and visceral experience from beginning to end. Aronofsky has used what he has learned from making the raw and unflinching The Wrestler and the cerebral horror and incredibly disturbing Requiem for a Dream, and has crafted a film that you will simply not be able to take your eyes off of. One that is not easily able to be classified to any one genre. The visuals and editing are the drive of what helps make the film so well done. Great acting, especially Natalie Portman, interesting but bizarre story. It is a movie that is well done but so strange that many a time through the movie I just wanted to walk out as it was getting too weird and stupid. Definitely nothing I would watch a second time.

Portman, Hershey and Kunis were very good. Overall, the movie was average, but still entertaining.

Spooky.

What an intense movie, it kept us wondering what was real and what wasn't. I disagree with a previous reviewer, I didn't think it was predictable at all. Left us with lots to talk about afterwards! Portman was fantastic, and Barbara Hershey as well. Two thumbs up.

interesting, mature subject

I have to admit that I was very reluctent to see this movie. I'm not a big fan of Natalie Portmans, nor am I a fan of ballet. I am very happy to say that I was pleasently surprised. I found Black Swan to be a very thrilling, spellbinding, on the edge of my chair kind of film. I found that the costumes were fabulous. Natalie played the part very well. It was not however that difficult the figure oout that most of the main character's issues came from within.

While Portman's portrayal deserved the Golden Globe I did not find that the writing was well-done at all. She far exceeded the material she was given.

Wierdsville! Very unexpected and perverted thinking went into making this movie.I am very dissapionted by the media hype.Better than the usual hollywood garbage being produced these days I guess.
