Terrible movie... what was johnny depp thinking ??? I hear he based the character off Marilyn Manson... It shows... don`t waste your money

I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as much as I loved the book!!!!!!!!!!

HORIBLE!!!! The oompaloompa`s, oh wait should I say the oompaloompa, gave a terable performance! It was the worst movie I have seen all year. Jonny Depp was creepy and I am a big fan. A TOTAL WAST OF TIME AND MONEY!!

This is by far one of the best movies out this year. Johnny Depp proved to be one of the closest works to the character of Willy Wonka from the books - that creepy edge that Gene Wilder missed in the original. Don`t get me wrong, Wilder was creepy, but didn`t quite get the dysfunction that the character needed. The only thing that could have used work is Charlie`s character... who was much mroe bloand than was in the original. I also like the orginal Ford Prefect from the BBC HHGTTG series cast as Charlie`s father. Very entertaining, but not really for children under the age of 9 or 10. Still, a 5 star in my book.

Charlie and the chocolate factory was the best movie in the universe!! Johnny Depp tottaly stole the show . Willy Wonka was so hiarious!! Ive already seen it 3 times and as soon as it comes out on dvd (nov 8) I tottaly buying it. the deluxe edition lookes like it has some awesome features too. so my advice, IF U HAVENT SEEN CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY JUMP IN THE CAR RIGHT NOW AND SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

brilliant movie ive already seen it twice i thought it was awesome although the first one was better this one isnt that far behind

Funniest Movie ever. Johnny Depp play such a good role you couldnt possiably get someone better. This is the best movie ever I have seen it 2 and going for a 3 I just love it. I say go and see it it will make you laugh I am sure of it IT IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER total 5 movie! :D

paaaaaathetic! it was a musical done by the oompaloompa`s! ...and there was only one guy that did the part of the oompaloompa`s!! i gave it one star just because i had to! it was BY FAR the WORST show that i have EVER SEEN! terribly done! jonny depp was a creep in it too! and the parts that they added into it were terrible! it slams the original! i wouldnt advise ANYONE to see it! its a MAJOR waste of time and $MONEY!!

not as good as the original. gene wilder`s performance as willy wonka was outstanding. depp`s left a bad taste in my mouth. the original was just an all around better movie. story,singing,acting even the factory had more to it. but freddie highmore was believable.

DUMB I gave this movie one star it was extremly boring and i regretted seeing it they make it look like a great movie.Most of the actors are completly wrong for the characters. It was one of the worse movies i have EVER seen and i have seen A LOT of movies dont waste ur money if u want to see it watch the trailor those are the best scenes and its free.

This was not nearly as good as the original!! I would say I am bias, but seriously what was with the cheap digital replication of one man to look like many oompa loompas?! I also found it near impossible to understand the lyrics in the songs and that was one of the things that made the original so funny. I will give them the fact that the little boy who played Charlie is a great actor and they added interesting background on Willy Wonka`s life - like where oompa loompas came from but overall not a rental at best!!

Very intresting. Johnny Depp sure played another different kind of character. It was a good remake of the first charlie and the chocolate factory.

Disclaimer: I cannot stand to be in the same room when the original movie plays (Gene Wilder, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). It was refreshing to see a Tim Burton spin on this story - very introspective, dark, isolating. This movie can do without the musical numbers (probably the reason I don`t like the original); however, I actually found the story adaptation and actors mezmerizing. I would definitely see this version again. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are a "Dynamic Duo"!!

Definitely not the first Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!!! In my opinion of course!!

Overall I thought this movie was pretty awesome. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that they didn`t sing the original OompaLoompa songs. I was waiting for that part when they/he came out. The modern twist on the songs was creative however I liked the oldfashioned song better.

Now this is the version that Roald Dahl wanted! He hated the original and so did I. No offense to Gene Wilder but he was too old to play Willy Wonka. Johnny Depp was perfect as the strange and a little creepy Willy Wonka. Whoever thinks this movie is lame has lost their inner child completely.

It was a great movie..and in my mind growing up reading the book..Jonny Depp`s portrayal of Willie Wonka was way more who I pictured when reading the book. (Gene Wilder is great..but no Willy Wonka) ;-)

The sets look better than the first movie, WILLIE WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, only in some place they have gone to far with changing the script.

Bizarre, modern, outrageous. Neat portrayal of overindulged kids. Really an amazing movie. Yes, Johnny Depp reminded me of MJ.
