Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I knew this movie would be TERRIBLE before I even saw it. Why? In the book, Wonka is OLD. He holds the golden ticket contest in order to find someone to take over the factory. I am a huge Johnny Depp fan, but there is no way he should be playing this part. If you cast an actor in the lead role who is totally wrong for the part, then you know it`s all downhill from there.

i loved it soooooo much i thought is was one of the best movies this year!!! you have to see it.i give 5 stars!!! it was a lot better then the origanal!!!!!if you have a choice i say go see it! i hope you love it just like i did!js

Awsome movie!!!!!!! I loved it and so did my 11 year old son. We had such a great time watching it. Of course it was different than the book and the original, why go see a NEW movie if it will be the same as an old one!! How boring is that. I also loved the creepy little Oompas, yes they were weird and creepy, especially BECAUSE they were the same actor. I will for sure buy the DVD and watch it over and over, enjoying it each time.

Yes this film was okay but the original film was better. Now if there was no original one then I would have to say that Johnny Depp`s moive was different. The "ommpaloompa`s" were very wierd!!!! The songs on the other hand will make a very interestion soundtrack. All and all my 7 year old daughter enjoyed it, and that is why I went.

This movie (in one word) is WEIRD! it was okay i guess, boaring at times, but i guess if you`re 8 you`d enjoy it.

Another wonderful Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film. Freddie Highmore was fantastic as well working with Depp again after FINDING NEVERLAND. This version was true to the book and whoever says Depp is creepy, let me tell you this: HE IS WILLY WONKA, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HE IS MEANT TO BE CREEPY. Not to diss Gene Wilder but he was much too old. No one could outact Depp as Willy Wonka. I especially love this film because Depp can take his kids to see it and they will be excited to see their daddy on the big screen.

Johnny Depp once again did his own thing, no one else could do the different parts that he acts in. Freddie Highmore is becoming quite a good actor.

What was up with the one guy playing all of the Oompa Loompas? That was horrible! Someone else mentioned this as well -- the size/height of the Oompa Loompa kept changing. That one little scary Oompa Loompa guy ruined the whole movie for me. By the way, whoever said this movie was just like the book obviously didn`t read it, or worse, read the Coles notes. This movie is somewhat like the book but don`t kid yourself, the book is better!!!!

best movie ever

It is still a musical whoever wrote "its better than the musical version"..... ugh. Putting that aside, this movie is absolutely fantastic! Tim Burton is amazing, and he made Johnny Depp look fabulous. Whoever said Johnny was creepy in this movie, is deadly mistaken! He was amazing!

I loved Charlie and the chocolate factory. I loved how they made the umpalumpas all the same dude Deep Roy. The songs the umpalumpa sang when something happened to each kid were soooooooooooooooo funny but not as good as the original umpalumpa song.lol I LOVE YOU MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not good! Depp was creepy and the one guy they had to play the Oompa-Loompas was REALLY creepy. Tim Burton could have and SHOULD have done a much better job with this. My advice - don`t waste your time watching this, you`ll enjoy yourself much more if you read the book or watch the original version starring Gene Wilder.

VERY FUNNY!!!!! I liked it so much. Its so random! It was the best Depp movie since pirates of the carribean. Definately a must see.

I think that this movie was great. It was funny, cool, and something you can`t keep your eyes off of. Congrats to Johnny Depp and Tom Bourton. I give you five stars.:)

This movie really surprised me. After what I saw in the teaser trailer, I expected it to be disturbingly weird and stylized, and only went to see it because I`m a huge johnny depp fan. But I was proven wrong. Although it did indeed have lots of "quirky situations," it also had heart. The entire Bucket family has lovely chemistry. And Johnny Depp as willy wonka was great, and just the right amount of weird. The oompa loompas were marginally funny, but sort of a one joke ("ah ha, they`re all the same")kind of thing. Overall though a great movie. Don`t judge by the trailers, go and see it for yourself!

It was a fun and delightful film. I`ve read the book, and saw the original, and it was followed closely enough, but also had that Tim Burton appeal. Johnny Depp as always was amazing! I really felt like a hunk of chocolate when I left the theatre!

I am surprised to say that it`s almost as good as the original. Nobody can replace Gene Wilder, and Johnny Depp knew this so he took a different approach to the character and made it all his own. Successfully, at that. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a really great movie, I`d recommend it to anyone. Don`t be thrown off by the kiddy trailers, the movie is very funny and entertaining for anyone. Two thumbs up!

I loved it! Johnny Depp only made it better. He makes me laugh cause he`s so cute in it. I saw the movie twice in the theatre and I want to see it again...it was so much better than the first Willy Wonka.

ACTUALLY! I didnt think it was that GOOD! Johnny is my fav actor and Willy Wonka(the original) is my fav movie, but I`d say it`s not up to snuff. The OompaLoompa guy is stupid, there is only one guy and he is duplicated a million times! I can`t believe like the entire movie is computer animated! It`s ridiculous! It looked SO fake! I am a passionate movie lover, and I give this movie 3 stars...I`d say I`m disappointed in Tim Burton!

This movie was great. Johnny Depp played an intriguing version of Willy Wonka, one that was funny, mysterious, and lovable all at the same time. I also think the actor who played Charlie (Freddie Highmore) deserves praise as he warmed the centre of my heart. The oompla loopas may have been better if they were all unique, but having just one multiplied was a different take. In my opinion Tim Burton had great vision, and the directing and acting were both well done!

I think it was great and i`d go see it again any day! It was so much fun!
