the first hour or so was disappointing-Washington`s character was just too spaced out. But, stick around for the last 40 minutes. I really enjoyed the suspence and twists at that point. I hope Streep gets the Oscar-she was AMAZING. Scary to know that this mind control technology already exists.

One of the more entertaining movies of the year. Streep and Washington are great. A very good time at the movies.

Predictable...slow..no suspense...watch it on DVD

Great movie… Except for the weird mother who was obvious infatuated with her son which I found totally repulsive and extremely inappropriate. Like.. Awkward. Other than that, Denzel is the BOMB. And it was a cool movie that makes you further believe government conspiracies.

Liev Schreiber was great! Denzel was forgetable! Streep is weak. Movie was overall a disapointment.

This film was too long and boring. If the US government (political elite) were really well organized as the film would lead you to believe, then 9/11 would not have happened.

This movie kept you thinking throughout the entire film and thats what I loved about it...It made you htink that maybe the U.S goverment was actually doing things like this.

Good Movie to watch on DVD...no point of seeing it on the big screen, as there is very little action... save your $$, rent it when it comes out.

4 stars, they lost the connection between the Senator and his daughter, that was so well done in the original, especially when he tells the mother off.

Yet another left-wing propaganda vehicle from hollywood. The story was obviously translated from the current political conspiracies used to demonize the sitting president (substitute Manchurian Global for Haliburton, the "mindless" candidate controlled by the evil military-industrial complex, etc, etc). A stilted performance from Meryl Streep will probably earn her an oscar from the far-out hollywood community (just as the loony propaganda of Michael Moore was awarded the golden palm). Come on people - stop insulting our intelligence.

I thought it was well acted, and thought provoking. Denzil Wahington is as always superb. As far as the plot goes. Could it happen? Alas is it happening, via USA? Questions worth pondering as the movie unfolds.

Good entertainment. However, there are some holes in this movie, and a few areas or story line that needed to be further developed and/or explained. Best line whilst viewing this movie with a friend went something like: Perhaps this isn`t real, and we are actually still in Kuwait. We`d both just left Kuwait in June. We just looked at each other in the dark. Too funny!

Excellent movie. D. Washington should be up for an Oscar this year. Movie brings up many heated political topics and explores big business`s role in molding our society. Great Characters.

did anyone have romantic fantasies after angela lansbury`s awesome kiss in the original? i think... no, i know the new film lacks this type of incestual excitement. by the way, queen of hearts forever baby... good film, 5 out of 5.

Shocking and suspenseful. The only drawback is that I had trouble understanding certain elements of the plot, particularly the ending. Perhaps I`ll watch it again on DVD, but it definitely wouldn`t be the same now that I know the outcome.

I just got in from seeing this movie. I am usually one to see the best in things esp. movies but this was terrible! It was too long, too slow, too confusing and I fell asleep at one point out of pure boredom. Not worth all the good ratings I read about it, which led me to go see it. Too bad, waste of time.

i don`t care what anyone else says this movie is really really bad. the beginning scene is about 6 min long and shows soldiers playing cards ...you will definitely be fidgeting in your seat ..it is that bad. too long too overated and too boring

Excellent drama...matched the suspense of the original for most of the film, however, the ending lacked plausibility.

5 stars - wonderful acting, intricate story - hopefully not a foreshadowing of future times.
