funny great acting depp did not disappoint his fans

it could have been better but i enjoyed it. it was a descent movie.

i went in knowing dark shadows had been downgraded from a serious soap opera to a sloppy comedy so i had little expectations from the start. i was pleasantly surprised to be taken in by the characters, environments and overall feel of the film. depp is actually very good as the barnabas character but that's where things started and ended for me. depp's portrayal of the rodent-like barnabas kept the film entertaining and endearing. unfortunately it was everything that was happening around him that weighed down the film from being successful. despite having little expectations i found myself being increasingly disappointed by how the film progressed. everything about dark shadows became it

all johnny depp movies are awesome. the makeup artists always do such an exceptional job because you can never tell it's him and i really enjoy that.

what exactly was wrong with this? it was funny, silly, dark but not so edgy as to require therapy afterwards and let's face it, did we expect it to change the world? it's entertaining. loved the original series and loved the remake. someday this will be a cult classic and people will be raving.
